I love the colours, and 1664 pieces - that's big! According to Brickset availability is listed as 1st Jan 2010. Pricing is listed as $179.99 US / $229.99 CA / £139.99 UK / €149.99 Germany

No doubt, that some of the old pirate sets are better, but they are expensive to get hold of today. So these new sets are better than nothing.

This ship seems like best set in the present line.

Wait? Look at her.
The new pirates have the old Impieral Logos, flag coloue scheme. Thats RED.
The Part of the ship's hull is Blue? Should it be Red to match the altready realcesed New Impieral Guard sets?

Or does this ship belong to a new soldiers remake side? They were blue?

Pirates - Black
Soldiers - Blue
Impieral Guard - Red
Royal Guards - Navy Blue
Islanders - Red & green.

What the heck? Kecia did you notice this too?

Niall, check out the old Imperial Flagship from 1992. It uses blue parts as well. So colourwise, it doesn't matter whether it's af Soldier or Guard ship. http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6271. I like this new ship, and the colours works fine for me.

I'm not sure what you mean about the flag? The masts have red Imperial Guards flags?

I think this ship is a beauty and if there wasn't an economic crisis I would buy two of them.

I bought one of these ships at LEGOWorld. It's a real beauty. And it's big! It has some nice details inside. It could use more cannons and minifigs though and probably other things as well, but overall it's still a great set.

Its a nice looking model. Though I really miss the old pirates method of making masts. I don't like the technic technique so much (though its much better here than how they did the Brickbeard Bounty). It also didn't take near as long to build, as I'd have hoped from a $179 set. Only about two hours...
