Interesting indeed. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see what these rumoured sets are like, and whether JT is part of this new theme, or not...

Not sure about the flying mummies or the giant monsters, but it looks good otherwise. Definitely much better than I'd expected.

Great!
I'll definitely buy the plane and the bike set!
I'll wait for better pics to decide for the other sets.

Looks like Lego went to flickr and had the gallery removed.

I managed to get a quick look before they dissapeared. I'm still a bit undecided. It didn't look as if JT was part of it (?), still they may turn out to be interesting.

The pictures have been re-uploaded on flickr.com. Just go to the eurobricks forum and on page 14 or 15 of the Pharaoh's Quest 2011 topic there should be a link to the pictures.

I am really excited about this theme. I know it is disappointing that there will not be a return of JT but, one could easily encorperate him into the new sets. I am also very excited about the new pyramid and I have to admit that the animal statues that come to life are also very cool. I think that I will be getting at least two of every set. :)

I really like the pyramid. I hope it has enough of the corner slope pieces to MOC up a more realistic pyramid. I've been thinking about doing a big Egypt diorama for JT and more deserty sets for MOC-fodder are always welcome. But still... flying mummies?

I do have to agree with you about the mummies but, the rest of the the line is really cool. After looking at the pyramid closely though, I can see that alas, it is just half of a pyramid. I can tell based on the fact that there are no visible corners on the back and by owning that baseplate my self. It simply doesn't have enough room for a full pyramid on top. That being said the 5988 Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins didnt have a full back either, meaning it wasn't covered, and perhapes there will be some really cool hyroglyphics inside. :)

There's now a new Pharaoh's Quest website up at http://pharaohsquest.lego.com/en-us/Default.aspx
