MZ Diesel Locomotive.
The third series of DSB class MZ locomotives were equipped
with the 20-
cylinder version of the GM 645-E3 engine and thus had a 600 HP larger
output than the MZ II. 20 locomotives were delivered by NOHAB in
the years 1972-1974, and they were the first locomotives to be delivered
in the new red/black design of DSB. The locomotives were originally
used mainly for Intercity operations, later on, also in often-stopping
regional services as well as hauling heavy freight trains. In the
beginning of the 1990's, the locomotives started to be worn and
they were deployed to semi-fast train operations with few stops.
They operated in Jutland until the summer of 1999 and on a few freight
and regional routes at Zealand until 1998. Due to some weaknesses
in the design they were the first of the class MZ-series to be withdrawn,
even though they were not the oldest of the MZ-series. Today, all
of the MZ III's have been stored, awaiting sale or lease to other
operators.

Bns
Cab Control Car.
The Bns is a Cab control car for regional traffic.
It has a control room from
where, a diesel locomotive in the train's other end can be controlled,
for push-
pull operations. The room was mounted high to make room for a
passage
beneath it, to be used when the car was used as a regular passenger
car.

B Passenger Car.
The B car is a passenger car for regional traffic.

The Model.
This model is a regional train model based on an original design
by James
Mathis. It consists of 1 MZ III locomotive, 3 type B passenger
cars and 1 Bns cab control car. They all have some interiors. 1
passenger car has a small kiosk. The other 2 only have passenger
seats. The cab control car has a flexroom (for bikes), as well as
first class seating. The yellow line on the cab control car indicates
first class. The model is as close to the original design as I could
make it. However there are some differences, since I couldn't get
all the pieces, which James used in his design. Special thanks to
James Mathis for the original design.
